More Trees Planted to Green Cilangkap Reservoir

Jakarta Assistant for Economic and Development Affairs (Ekbang), Fauzi, led the planting of 50 trees in Cilangkap Reservoir area, Cilangkap Urban Village, Cipayung Sub-district, East Jakarta.

"Trees are not only important for greening the environment, but also help reduce air pollution,"

The tree planting involved heads of sub-agency, sub-district, urban village, and RT/RW; TP PKK cadres; PPSU personnel; and local residents.

According to him, tree planting is part of a routine program held every Friday in different locations.

"This 19.5-hectare Cilangkap Reservoir area is being gradually planted with trees to make it greener and cooler," he said on Friday (7/25).

The tree planting program, he added, is part of regional government's efforts to meet the need for green open spaces.

"Trees are not only important for greening the environment, but also help reduce air pollution," he emphasized.

Meanwhile, Head of East Jakarta City Park and Forestry, Dwi Ponangsera, mentioned that tree planting will be carried out around the reservoir area.

"Today we planted 50 trees, consisting of 5 purple tabebuia trees, 25 flamboyan trees, and 20 kigelia trees. Previously, we planted 200 trees in here and will keep planting more," he said.
